After three years of inspiring reflections, consultations, discussions and debates, the Congress marking the 70th Anniversary of Liberal International adopted a visionary Liberal Manifesto 2017, building on the founding principled laid in the Oxford Manifesto from 1947.

Liberal International 1947 - 2017: Bureau marks 70th anniversary in Oxford

On 10 April 2017, Liberals from around the world came together on the same spot at Wadham College, University of Oxford, where Liberal International was established 70 years ago this month. In 1947 Liberals from 19, mostly European, countries united in the aftermath of the horrors of World War Two to form our political federation and promote a world order based on liberal values; today, with over 100 members across 5 continents, our liberal movement is truly global.

LI Human Rights Committee Publishes 2016 Annual Report

Liberals strongly condemn violent attack on Macedonia parliament

The political crisis in Macedonia culminated last week when violent protestors stormed the Parliament and brutally attacked MPs from the parliamentary majority moments after they had elected the new President of Parliament. MPs from LI full member Liberalno-demokratska partija - LDP were evacuated unhurt, while some of their colleagues ended up in hospital covered in blood.

Canada Foreign Minister Freeland delivers reality-check on female empowerment at G20

LI Bureau after Bulgaria vote: Reject coalition with far-right political forces

While marking the 70th anniversary of Liberal International, the LI Bureau of the world’s oldest political international evaluated the situation in Bulgaria in the aftermath of the early elections that took place on 26th of March.
