The outcome of the new coalition negotiations means that the number of ministers has increased from 17 to 22 with the two new partners possessing 9 ministerial positions.
Speaking after the new government was formed at the end of November, Prime Minister Rasmussen said: "I am in politics because I want to change our society. I am in politics because I want to shape the future of the country the future generations will grow up in. I want to create a land of opportunity, a country where prosperity is not only for the benefit of few, but a promise for everyone. This will be the starting point of the party coalition cabinet".
