Annemie Neyts meets President Saakashvili
Spokesperson of the ALDE Group for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security in the European Parliament Mrs. Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroeck will lead a delegation of the Liberal International (which she presides) to Georgia from 18 till 22 March 2005. This visit is sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
Minister of State Annemie Neyts will have meetings with:
- Mr. Mikhail Saakashvili, President of Georgia
- Mr. Nino Burdjanadze, President of the Parliament of Georgia
- Mr. Kakha Bendukidze, State Minister for Economic Reforms in Georgia
- Mr. Mikhail Machavariani, MP, Vice-President of the Parliament of Georgia (member of the party in government, the National Democratic Party of Georgia)
- Mr. Isa Gambar, Chairman of the Party 'Musavat' / Azerbaijan (leading opposition party in AZ), former President of the Parliament of Azerbaijan
- Mr. Ararat Zurabyan, Chairman of the Board of the Armenian National Movement
- Dr. David Shahnazaryan, member of the Board of the Armenian National Movement and former Minister of National Security of Armenia
During this visit Mrs. Neyts will participate at a seminar for journalists, politicians and NGO's of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on 19 March in Tbilisi. The seminar will deal with reforms in transition countries of the South Caucasus.
