Congreso
El Congreso el la autoridad democrática de la organización y dirige su política. Cada 18 meses, representantes de los partidos afiliados se reùnen para disenar las políticas y controlar los trabajos de la Internacional Liberal. Los miembros dicuten ponencias políticas; debaten y votan resoluciones presentadas por partidos afiliados; eligen la Mesa y a otros cargos; discuten temas relativos a la afiliación y patricipan en talleres. El Congreso se celebra en distintos lugares del mundo por invitación de los partidos afiliados y proporciona una excelente oportunidad de que los liberales de todo el mundo trabajen en equipo.
Siguiente Congreso: Cairo 2009
The 56th Congress of the Liberal International was held in Cairo, Egypt. Hosted by LI member party the Democratic Front Party (DFP), the central theme of this pre-eminent liberal event for 2009 was 'Education for the 21st Century', and gathered hundreds of liberal leaders and thinkers from around the world.
The Executive Committee meeting of LI, that is only for certain delegates representing their party, was held on Thursday the 29th of October in Alexandria. The Congress itself opened on the morning of Friday the 30th of October 2009, and closed during the evening of Saturday the 31st of October.
